The Magical Isle of Skye

This tour can be carried out as a two day tour from Glasgow or Edinburgh.

 

Day One: From your start point we head towards Stirling from Edinburgh we would take in the Forth Bridges first, before reaching Stirling we take a stop at the Kelpies, Two 100ft high steel water horses symbolising Scotland’s industrial heritage. From here we head into the ancient city of Stirling where we will view Stirling Bridge, Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument, Heading on we travel through the Trossachs taking a comfort break at Loch Lubnaig before heading on to to the Picturesque Glencoe. Onwards from Glencoe we will have a photo stop at Castle Stalker before heading onto Oban where we will spend the evening.

Day Two: From Oban we head along Loch Linnhe to Fort William, From here you can ei- ther take the steam train (Hogwarts Express in the Harry Potter Films) or we can drive past the amazing glenfinnan viaduct. We will take the ferry from here across the sound of Sleat and arrive of the Isle of Skye. We will now drive to our accommodation for the evening.

Day Three: On this day we take in the town Portree before heading to the north of the is- land to see Old Man of Storr and The Quiraing. We can also take in the Trotternish Penin- sula on this Day. We may also visit Talisker Distillery for a wee dram!

Day Four: On this day we visit the lesser know Fairy Glen and Fairy pools, one of the most beautiful sights in the world. You may also like to take a boat trip on this day visiting Loch Courisk in the heart of Skyes spectacular Cullin Mountains. We head of the Isle of Skye via the Skye Road Bridge and travel to the town of Plockton where we will spend the evening.

Day Five: From Plockton we head towards Fort Augustus and Loch Ness, a boat trip is optional on Loch Ness. From here we head onto Spean Bridge before traveling onwards to Newtonmore Folk Museum, Here we see how people used to live in Scotland many years ago! We will travel on to the Hermitage which are beautiful water falls outside of the town of Dunkeld. We will pass Loch Earn before arriving in Callander where we will spend the evening.

Day Six: We start off by heading out of Callander and to the Trossachs Trail, passing through the picturesque village of Brig o’ Turk. We will go to Loch Katrine for a journey on the Sir Walter Scott steam ship (optional). From here we head towards the village of Aber- foyle passing over the Dukes Pass, we take a lunch stop at the Lodge Visitor centre and explore the forests and waterfalls. We travel Through Aberfoyle and towards Doune Castle and Deanston Distillery Optional.

 

Overnight in Callander/Edinburgh/Glasgow Transfer to airport or tour Edinburgh / Glasgow
